Naturally Treat Dark Elbows

What causes dark elbows?

Improper hygiene and lack of personal care.
Due to the skin overlap, elbows attract more dirt and grime.
Constantly subjected to friction, especially with clothes you wear, leads to darkening of the area and dry patches.
Elbows have fewer oil glands than other parts of the body, resulting in dryness. Dryness makes it easier for the skin to get darker.
Dark spots on elbows can be one among the many signs of aging.

The skin on the elbow can become dark and rough because of age, friction and neglect. Coarse, dirty-looking patches are often caused by a build-up of dead skin cells. When treating your dark elbow with a home remedy, be patient. Remember that the problem was created over time and will not be solved overnight

Things You'll Need
Oatmeal
Almonds
Food processor
Milk
Lemon
Washcloth
Yogurt
Apple cider vinegar
Nut oil

Instructions
1
Exfoliate your elbows regularly with a mixture of almonds and oatmeal. Place equal parts rolled oats and raw, unsalted almonds into a food processor and grind them into a medium-coarse mixture. Measure approximately one tablespoon of the exfoliant into your palm and add enough milk to make a paste. Rub the mixture into your elbow with a gentle circular motion and rinse thoroughly with cool water.

2
Slice a lemon in half and rub the elbow with the sliced fruit. Allow the juice to remain on your elbow 10 to 15 minutes. Soak a washcloth in hot water, wring well and scrub the elbow with the hot cloth.

3
Mix one cup of plain yogurt with approximately one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Rub it into the elbow like a lotion and allow it to soak in for at least 15 minutes then scrub the elbow with a hot, moist cloth. Keep the mixture refrigerated in an airtight container for future use.
